PRODUCTION OF YEAST CELL WALL-LYSING ENZYME AND ITS UTILIZATION

PURPOSE: To make it possible to selectively lyse only cell wall and lyse the title cell wall in such a way as to be useful for genetic engineering by acting a microorganism belonging to the genus Oerskovia and having yeast cell wall lysing enzyme producing ability or cultured mixture thereof on a yeast.

CONSTITUTION: A yeast cell wall is lysed by acting a microorganism (e.g. FERM P-11737) belonging to the genus Oerskovia and having yeast cell wall lysing enzyme producing ability and/or cultured mixture thereof on a yeast. Furthermore, the microorganism has properties forming no Gram-positive bacillus and spore, having aerobic property and minute flagellum and having mobility and exhibiting no acid-fastness and culture thereof is preferably carried out at 25-35°C and pH5-8 for 15-150 day when the microorganism is cultured.
