Title:
PRODUCTION OF ZINC-NICKEL ALLOY ELECTROPLATED MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3890149
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the rusting of the non-plated part and to exclude clogging, etc., when used for a pipeline, etc., by treating a zinc-nickel alloy electroplated member having the non-plated part with a chromating soln., admixed with a specified amt. of nickel.
SOLUTION: A zinc-nickel alloy electroplating film is formed on an electroplated member such as an industrial steel pipe having a non-plated part such as the inner periphery, and the member is then dipped in a chromating soln. and chromated to obtain a zinc-nickel alloy electroplated member. In this case, Ni is added by 3-600 ppm, preferably 5-300 ppm, as nickel ion Ni2+ is added to the chromating soln. consisting essentially of chromium (VI) ion and such an inorg. acid as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. Consequently, the rusting of the non-plated part of the member is prevented when chromated, the clogging, etc., due to rusting are avoided, and the member is appropriately used.
