PURPOSE: To shorten the time during which the loading of a WSOS is completed by transmitting a fragment of a work station OS and the information showing a specific position of a memory set at a work station where the OS fragment should be loaded in a general multi-address via a work station control computer.

CONSTITUTION: A general multi-address means 101 receives the transmission requests of WSOS from work stations WS 11 - 13 and divides the WSOS into the fragments from the head through the end of the WSOS. Then the means 101 transmits these fragments in a multi-address together with the position information showing the specific positions of the WS 11 - 13 where the fragments should be loaded respectively. Thus the WSOS are transmitted to the WS 11 - 13 in a general multi-address. As a result, the WSOS can be loaded to the WS 11 - 13 within the time not dependent on the number of connected WS when the power supplies are applied to plural WS approximately at one time.
