To provide a broadcast receiver whereby all contents of a video-recorded program can be viewed without an effect of defective reception even when the defective reception takes place during the reception of the video-recorded program.
When the defective reception takes place during the reception of the video-recorded program, the receiver automatically detects the occurrence of the defective reception, generates defective reception part information denoting a time when the effective reception takes place and program contents affected by the defective reception, transmits the generated defective reception part information to a server via a network and acquires restoration information for restoring the defective reception part so that all the program contents can be viewed without being affected by the defective reception part of the video-recorded contents due to the defective reception of a broadcast radio wave having been caused during the video recording.
