An itemization display control function 101 shows the number of paper money or coins of each denomination paid as change, and controls display on a touch panel as a screen which allows the user to select whether to pay the change by electronic money or not. A determination function 89 determines whether the change must be paid by electronic money or not according to an operation of the user when the screen is displayed. The invention can be applied to a vending machine.
