Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time and to reduce the system scale with a programmable controller by storing selectively at least a part of an internal data memory area of the programmable controller in an auxiliary program file, etc., in the same format as an external storage medium. CONSTITUTION:A programmable controller main body 1 contains a CPU 2, a system memory 3, a work memory 4, a user program memory 5, and a data memory 6 which are connected to each other with an internal bus 7. The memory 6 includes a data memory area where all peripheral controllers connected to the CPU 2 and the programmable controller have accesses. Then a part of the memory area is selectively switched in the same format as that of an external storage medium with a command inputted to the main body 1 from outside. Thus plural program files can be stored in the internal memory 6 without using any external storage medium nor requiring any file conversion processing.
