PURPOSE: To make operation for carrying a film easy by moving forward or returning the film by the operation of a single rotating member.

CONSTITUTION: When a knob 8 projected from an opening 1a of a casing 1 upwards is rotated on a holding device 2, a film F can be moved right or left in accordance with the difference of the rotating direction, pictures to be converted into electric signals out of plural picture frames formed along the longitudinal direction of the film F are opposed to an aperture 3 successively to send the signals related to the required pictures to a communication circuit. When the knob 8 is rotated around the center of the aperture 3 in the clockwise direction while holding the knob 8, the whole holding device 2 rotates around the center O of the aperture 3. The whole holding device 2 is rotated by 90° as shown by an alternate long and two short dashes line and then locked. Consequently, the aperture 3 is also rotated by 90° as shown by the alternate long and two short dashed line. Thus, the aperture 3 is made longitudinally long and each picture of the film F is projected as a longitudinally long shape on a prescribed surface on which a line sensor is moved.
