Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily provide a projection display system for stereoscopic vision provided with a characteristic such as that a large screen in a conventional rear type projection display can be enjoyed in a bright room by many persons.

CONSTITUTION: This system is the projection display system for stereoscopic vision provided with optical unit 1, 2 provided with a video source and a projection lens for enlarging/projecting a video, and respective optical units 1, 2 are provided with polarizing plates 3, 4 having polarization directions orthogonally intersecting each other, and projecting different videos making stereoscopic vision possible on a transmission type screen 6, and recognizing a stereoscopic video by polarization glasses 7 provided with the polarizing plates 8, 9 having the similar polarization directions orthogonally intersecting each other, and the polarization directions orthogonally intersecting each other of the polarizing plates 8, 9 are made parallel or vertical directions for an optical axis with a birefringence characteristic provided in the screen 6.
