Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical device and an image projection device capable of suppressing an adverse effect of external light other than visible light on an image forming unit.SOLUTION: A projection optical device (in the present embodiment, the device is configured of a first optical unit 30 and a second optical unit 40) projects an image created by an image forming unit A toward a projection surface through a plurality of optical elements (projection lens part 31, folding mirror 41, and curved surface mirror 42) and an emission window part 51a; and includes external light shielding means for preventing at least one of infrared light and ultraviolet light of a non-visible light component of external light from entering into the image forming unit.
