To provide a projection type display apparatus having a power source block that ensures satisfactory cooling efficiency.
The power source block 22 of the projection type display apparatus includes: a circuit board 42 on which an electric element is disposed from one end to the other end thereof; a duct cover 34 having a shape matching the shape of the circuit board so as to cover the circuit board; a suction fan 36 disposed in the duct cover and used to cool the circuit board; and an exhaust section 40 disposed in the duct cover and used to exhaust air sent by the suction fan. The duct cover has opening 72 on one side of the circuit board and an opening 74 on the other side thereof. The openings are formed so as to turn aside from the position where they face each other.
