Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device that stably cools a cooling object and maintains optical characteristics.SOLUTION: A projection type display device comprises: a light source unit; an optical modulation synthesis unit that modulates light and synthesizes the modulated light; a projection optical unit that projects synthesized light emitted from the optical modulation synthesis unit; and a heat exchange unit. In the projection type display device, the optical modulation synthesis unit and the heat exchange unit are provided in a shield space formed by a shield member, the shield space is sectioned to a first space and a second space by a first partition plate, a cooling device that cools the optical modulation synthesis unit is arranged in the first space, the optical modulation synthesis unit is arranged in the second space, and the heat exchange unit is arranged so as to make the first space communicate with the second space. In the first partition plate, at least one opening part that makes the first space communicate with the second space, is formed. Air in the shield space is made to circulate in the first space, second space and heat exchange unit in this order.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
