To provide a projection type display device that, when performing stack projection, can prevent a deterioration in image quality due to a transition period for shifting pixel positions.SOLUTION: A projection type display device (1000) can project images by using a plurality of projection type display devices, and has image generation means (103) that generates display image data based on input image data, and shift means (111) that shifts a projection position of a projection image corresponding to the display image data.
