Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the device which generates no trapezoid distortion as to a front type projection display device. CONSTITUTION:This projection type display device is provided with a light emitting means 11 which make image information of each line arriving from a signal source NO illuminate in series, a deflecting means 13 which deflects the resulting image light for scanning at right angles to the series direction, and spatial optical modulating elements 15, 16, and 17 which form an image of the image light on a photoconductive layer member provided integrally, and then reads the image formed on the photoconductive layer member out with read light RL and displays it on a screen 4 through a projection lens 30; and this device is provided with a time-base converting means 50 which performs time-base conversion for the image information in a one-line period and a deflecting speed varying means 51 which puts the deflecting means 13 in variable-speed scanning motion and even if the image is projected slantingly on the screen 4, the image is projected without any trapezoid distortion.
