To reduce the flare and to enhance the contrast of a projected picture without lowering the luminance of the projected picture by forming a wide-band reflection preventing film on the plastic lens of a projection lens part.
The wide-band reflection preventing film 9 whose reflectivity is sufficiently low in all the wavelength bands of blue, green and red emission spectrum is formed on 1st to 4th plastic lenses 7a. The film 9 is formed by alternately laminating low refractive-index films 9a, 9c and 9e and high refractive-index films 9b and 9d on the 1st lens 7a in the order of the film 9a, the film 9b, the film 9c, the film 9d and the film 9e by an evaporation method, for example. In the case of the 1st lens 7a, the film 9 is formed on the surface of the opposite side (the air side) to a cathode ray tube.
