Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type image display device capable of announcing an abnormal state on a projection screen even in occurrence of a failure in a cooling part.SOLUTION: The projection type image display device comprises: a light source; a light source driving part for driving the light source; a cooling part for cooling each part; a cooling control part for controlling the cooling part; an image forming part for forming a projection image by converting light from the light source; a light source output setting part for setting the light emission level of the light source; and a cooling part failure detection part for detecting a failure in the cooling part. When a fault occurs in the cooling part, the light source output setting part turns on the light source at a light emission level lower than that in a normal use state and announces the abnormal state on the projection screen by the image forming part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
