Abstract:
PURPOSE: To display a high quality picture free of color unevenness by providing a narrow-band green filter in the optical path of a green light.
CONSTITUTION: The device is composed of three liquid crystal light valves 8 used for forming an image, dichroic mirror systems 4 and 5 used for separating light into three primary colors, a dichroic prism 9 used for synthesizing color images, a light source 1, and a projecting lens 12. The narrow-band green filter 6 is provided in the optical path of the green light. Therefore, the green light free of color unevenness can be made incident on the green modulation liquid crystal light valve 8G. Thus, a high quality picture free of color unevenness can be displayed on a screen.
