Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form a stereoscopic image of a large screen able to be observed in many directions without spectacles by compressing and synthesizing plural TV signals electronically obtained from the pickup in many directions and projecting the result onto a renticular screen from its rear side. CONSTITUTION:Outputs picked up by plural TV cameras are converted respectively into digital picture signals and extracted by a high speed multiplexer 13 switchingly sequentially. Then the signal is converted into an analog picture signal to drive a liquid crystal light bulb 17. A back light is radiated from a light source lamp 18 onto one major plane of the bulb 17. Then a picture formed on other major plane of the bulb 17 is projected onto a renticular screen comprising a Fresnel lens 23, a diffusion plate 22 and a renticular lens 24 via a radiation optical system 21. Thus, optical images in many directions is projected accurately in stripes in each lens of the lens 24 in the unit of picture elements as an optical image group arranged regularly and lots of viewers 105 can observe a stereoscopic image in many directions.
