The projector includes an image display part for displaying an image based on an image signal, a color shift correction part for correcting an image signal by using a predetermined correction value in order to suppress variation of color in accordance with a position on a display image, a picked-up image acquiring part for acquiring a picked-up image obtained by picking up the display image, and a correction value adjusting part for adjusting a correction value used for color shift correction based on the picked-up image.
