The projector 1 is provided with: a zoom lens 26 for adjusting a zoomed state of a projected image displayed on the screen Sc; a zoom detecting device 28 for detecting a zoomed state to be adjusted by the zoom lens; and a controller 3. The controller 3 is provided with: an image size acquiring means for causing the zoom detecting device 28 to detect a zoomed state and acquiring the size of the projected image on the basis of the detected zoomed state; an edge enhancement filter generating means 33 for generating an edge enhancement filter on the basis of the size of the projected image acquired by the image size acquiring means 32; and an image quality adjusting part 342 for applying image processing based on the edge enhancement filter generated by the edge enhancement filter generating means 33 to the image data.
