In the projector type headlight having a projection lens 10, a semiconductor light source 20, and a shade 30 arranged between the projection lens and the semiconductor light source, the projector type headlight includes a first reflective surface 40 for a low beam reflecting light of the semiconductor light source, a solenoid 60 with a plunger having the tip on an opening of the first reflective surface for a low beam, a second reflective surface 50 for a low beam arranged on the tip of the plunger and positioning at either of an opening blocking position approximately flush with the first reflective surface for a low beam rather than the solenoid and an opening releasing position not interfered with light passing through an opening of the first reflective surface for a low beam, and a reflective surface 70 for a high beam arranged on the outside of the first reflective surface for a low beam and reflecting forward the light passing through the opening of the first reflective surface for a low beam among the light of the semiconductor light source.
