A projector comprises a first light source section 50A and a first optical element 60A. The first optical element 60A comprises: a first light incident surface SA1; a second light incident surface SA2; a first light emission surface SB1; a first reflection film 601A obliquely opposed to the first light incident surface SA1; and a second reflection film 602A obliquely opposed to the second light incident surface SA2. The first reflection film 601A reflects a first bundle of rays L1 transmitted through the first light incident surface SA1 toward the second reflection film 602A. The second reflection film 602A reflects the first bundle of rays L1 reflected by the first reflection film 601A toward the first light emission surface SB1 while transmitting a second bundle of rays L2 transmitted through the second light incident surface SA2 therethrough. The first bundle of rays L1 reflected by the second reflection film 602A and the second bundle of rays L2 transmitted through the second reflection film 602A are emitted from the first light emission surface SB1 in directions different from each other.
