Abstract:
To provide a promoter and an expression vector derived from genus Monascus having health promoting effects as a food additive, and a method for using the same.
Provided are a DNA molecule containing a sequence derived from the upstream sequence of the start codon of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (acuF) gene and a heat shock protein (hsp) gene derived from Monascus pilosus, Monascus ruber or Monascus purpureus; a promoter region containing the DNA molecule; and recombinant plasmids and expression vectors containing the promoter region.
