Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote the production of the subject product useful as medicines, cosmetics, food additives, agrochemicals, etc. by treating a part or all of a plant body or a cultured tissue or a cell thereof with jasmonic acids, coronatines, etc. and a radical formation promoter. SOLUTION: A part or all of a plant body or a cultured tissue and/or a cell thereof are treated with (A) a compound of jasmonic acids such as jasmonic acid, tuberonic acid or cucurbic acid or a compound of coronatines such as coronatine or coronafacic acid and (B) a radical formation promoter such as mannitol, sorbitol, halothane, carbon tetrachloride, bromoform, isonicotinic acid hydrazide, nitrofurantoin, metronidazole, chloramphenicol, ascorbic acid, tocopherol or glutathione to thereby increase the content of the objective secondary metabolite contained in the plant body, cultured tissue and/or cell thereof.
