To provide a proof preparation system and method for enabling an image to be easily confirmed even at a division position and for preventing the image that is appropriately divided into fragments even in automatic processing from being outputted, when dividing the image that is larger than a size that can be outputted by an outputting device for outputting.
The proof preparation system outputs a proof from an output device based on image data being transmitted from an image-processing device. One screen based on the image data is divided into a plurality of portions, the amount of overlapping near a division position is set in the divided image, and the image that is divided so that overlapping occurs near the division position based on the set amount of overlapping is outputted from the outputting device. Also, after the number of division of one screen is determined, the overlapped region is added, and the division position is determined so that respective image divisions have the same size.
