A propelling container (a writing implement) 1 comprises a body 10 having an open front end and formed in a tubular shape, a tubular ink tank 11 housed in the body 10 slidably in an axial direction of the body and in which an ink is charged, a pen 12 held in the front end portion of the ink tank 11, a lid 13 closing the front end open portion of the body 10, and a propelling member 15 arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the body 10 and being slidable in the axial direction of the body 10 or others. The lid 13 is secured to the front end portion of the body 10 via a hinge14 and is constituted so as to open oscillatably and outward, the hinge 14 has a spring body biasing the lid 13 toward the body 10 and closing the same, and the propelling member 15 has a boss portion 15a inserted into a through hole 10a formed in the body 10 and connected to the outer peripheral face of the ink tank 11.
