Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the warming up time of a reforming device and to suppress the discharge of an unreacted hydrocarbon from the reforming device at the time of warming up operation. SOLUTION: At the time of starting the warming-up operation of the reforming device 10, the opening of a flap valve 12 is decreased and a gas formed by mixing air with a raw fuel gas flows into a limited zone of a catalyst layer 16 through the flap valve 12. Before flowing into the catalyst layer 16, the gas is heated by a heating part 14. The temp. of the zone where the gas flows-in is elevated by the heated gas to advance the oxidation reaction on the catalyst actively some time later and the catalyst layer 16 generates heat also from the inside. When the temp. of the zone where gas flows-in is increased, the opening of the flap valve 12 is increased step by step to enlarge the flow-in zone of the gas to elevate the temp. of the whole catalyst part.
