PURPOSE: To prepare an injection propulsion agent in a short time by mixing active particles, thermoplastic elastomer particles and propulsion agent grain additives at the temperature lower than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer, drying and then filling them in a casing.
CONSTITUTION: Active particles, thermoplastic elastomer particles and propulsion agent grain additives are mixed at the temperature lower than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer particles to prepare an uniformly dispersed dry mixture 13. The mixture 13 is filled into a casing or a mold 10, and then is placed on heating plate 14 positioned in a chamber 15 that is connected to a vacuum pipe line 23, and last is pressed by a cylinder 16 and a hammer 17. While measuring the temperature by a probe 19 of a thermocouple, the mixture is heated at the temperature that is higher than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer but is low enough for ensuring the stability of the active particles, and is melted and then solidified. Therefore, the propulsion agent can be effectively prepared in a short time.
