Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the propulsion capacity of a vessel with much more efficiency through removing hull resistance that exists near the rear of a propeller by providing an idly-turning propeller consisting of a propeller portion protruding provided in radiation at the outer perimeter of a nozzle-rear-end turnable portion. CONSTITUTION:Around the outer perimeter of a screw propeller 4 is provided a nozzle 12, the turnable portion 12b at the rear end of which is provided with an idly-turning propeller 6. A propeller blade 7 of this idly turning propeller 6 is equipped in plurality and in radiation, and this propeller blade 7 consists of a turbine portion 7a which is protrudingly provided at from the inner perimeter of the nozzle-rear-end turnable portion 12b toward the center axis of the nozzle 12 and to a spot as at a distance from the center axis as desired and is driven and turned by the slip stream 9 of the screw propeller 4, and a propeller portion 7b which is protrudingly provided at from the outer perimeter of the nozzle-rear-end turnable portion 12b to the outward in radiation, and hull propulsion takes place at the propeller portion of the idly-turning propeller, too.
