Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve low noise and low vibration characteristic at the time of low speed driving by stopping driving of a main machine at the time of low speed steering, and by rotating a propeller at low speed through the operation of an electric motor for auxiliary steering, for which a fuel battery is used as a power source while the main machine is separated by a clutch.
CONSTITUTION: A propeller 3 is rotated by driving a main machine 2 through a rotational driving axis 4 as well as a clutch 5 in a normal steering mode of a ship. Electricity is fed to an onboard load while a fuel cell 7 and an inverter 12 are in a driving condition When an acoustic probe 14 for probing resources or for observing submarine topography, for probing mine layer, and for probing shoals of fishes, is used, the driving of the main machine 2 is stopped and the clutch 5 is in a motor non-transmission condition, while the fuel cell 7 is used as a power source, and electricity is fed from a propulsion switchboard 10 to a control means 8 as well as an auxiliary steering power motor 6, so as to rotate the propeller at low speed. Excellent low noise and low vibration characteristic is thus achieved, while acoustic probing accuracy is improved.
