Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with rotating speed regulating operation, a speed change gear, or the like of a prime mover to simplify construction and save fuel cost, by constituting the propulsion device for a ship out of a constant speed rotating type prime mover for driving auxiliaries provided on a stern and a pusher having a variable pitch propeller driven by the prime mover.
SOLUTION: A base is placed on the deck of the rear part in a hull, and a prime mover is installed on the base. This prime mover is provided with front and rear two output shafts, and one is connected to the input shaft 24 of a vertical shaft pusher 16. This vertical shaft pusher 16 is provided with an input part 30 on the upper part of a vertical column 28 and an output part 32 on the lower part, and a variable pitch propeller 34 is provided on the rear end of the output part 32. A rudder device is provided in rear of the vertical shaft pusher 16. The variable pitch propeller 34 is provided with propeller blades 70 and a propeller boss 72, a crank ring 71 is fitted to the base ends of the propeller blades, and when a crosshead 78 is slided, the crank ring 71, namely, the directions of the propeller blades 70 (pitch) are made variable.
