Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a propylene block copolymer which can give a molding excellent in rigidity, impact resistance and appearance by forming a block copolymer having a specified structure and specified properties.
CONSTITUTION: This copolymer is a propylene block copolymer comprising 40-85wt.% part (A) insoluble in n-decane at 23°C and 15-60wt.% part (B) soluble in n-decane at 23°C. Component A contains 85-100mol% structural units derived from propylene and 0-15mol% structural units derived from a 2-20C α-olefin other than propylene and has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.1-20dl/g and a pentad isotacticity I5 of 0.98 or above as measured on the part insoluble in n-decane at 60°C. Component B contains 20-80mol% structural units derived from ethylene and 20-80mol% structural units derived from a 3-20C α-olefin and has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 5-15dl/g.
