Abstract:
Derivatives of prostaglandin I2 characterized by the generic structural formulae, and are useful for inhibiting platelet aggregation or gastric acidity in individuals for whom such therapy is indicated. In the preceding structural formulae: B is CH2OH or COOT, where T is hydrogen, an alkyl group having from 1-3 carbon atoms or a pharmacologically acceptable cation; X and Y are hydrogen or a hydroxyl group; A is methylene or ethylene; and R is a pentyl, cyclohexyl, bicyclo[3.2.0]-hept-3-yl or 1, 1-dimethylpentyl group.
