Abstract:
To provide a protect ring capable of preventing a diameter of a cylinder liner from enlarging, shortening a vertical dimension of the cylinder liner, and further facilitating attachment/detachment with respect to the cylinder liner, and also provide an attachment structure of the protect ring.SOLUTION: A protect ring 50 provided between a cylinder liner 30 and a cylinder head 16 is formed into an annular shape. The protect ring 50 is installed on an upper end surface 35A of an upper exposure part 35 of the cylinder liner 30 so that an inner peripheral surface of the protect ring slightly projects to a center side of the cylinder liner 30 with respect to an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder liner 30 to form a minute annular step D1 between itself and the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder liner 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
