To realize a protecting case that can protect a recording apparatus from an external force such as compression, impacts, etc.
A paper feed opening 24 is set at one side face of a recording apparatus 21, and a paper discharge opening 25 is provided at a side face of the opposite side of the paper feed opening 24 of the recording apparatus 21. A protecting case 1 comprises a rectangular top plate 4 covering an upper face of the recording apparatus 21, a side plate 5a covering the face of the recording apparatus 21 where the paper feed opening 24 is formed, and a side plate 5b covering the face of the recording apparatus 21 where the paper discharge opening 25 is formed. A projection 2 is formed at an inner face of the side plate 5a and a projection 3 is formed at an inner face of the side plate 5b. When the recording apparatus 21 is to be stored in the protecting case 1, the side plate 5a bends in the direction of an arrow C and the side plate 5b bends in the direction of an arrow C'. As a result, the projection 2 enters the paper feed opening 24 and at the same time, the projection 3 enters the paper discharge opening 25. Even when an external force is applied to the recording apparatus 21 to narrow the paper feed opening 24 or paper discharge opening 25, the recording apparatus 21 is prevented from being deformed.
