A protecting cover 10 formed of a hard plastic or semi-elastic material has an upper part 12, a bottom part 13, a front shield part 16, a pair of opposed side parts 14, 15, and a cavity 30 formed by them. The upper and bottom parts 12, 13 are formed so that the respective edge parts 23, 23 are substantially matched to the upper part and bottom part of a shaving blade. The cover 10 comprises a plurality of engaging members to be attachably and detachably engaged with the upper and bottom parts of the shaving blade, for example, a plurality of detents 20 engagingly fixed to the upper and bottom parts 12, 13 of the cover 10, and the detents 20 are provide so as to cooperate with a plurality of corresponding grooves provided on the upper and bottom parts of the shaving blade.
