Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively protect a rider in the captioned device which protects a rider by expanding a gas bag with a gas at the time of collision by forming the gas bag with a center gas bag and a doughnut shaped outer peripheral gas bag which is continuously connected to its outer periphery. CONSTITUTION:The captioned rider protecting device has a center gas bag 1 and a gas flow-in opening portion 2 is formed on the base end portion of the gas bag 1. It also has an annular outer peripheral gas bag 3 which is integrally and continuously connected to the outer periphery of the center gas bag 1 and plural flowing ports 5 for allowing a gas flow are formed on the linking wall portion 4 between both gas bag 1, 3, while forming plural bleeding holes 6 openably/closably in the vicinity of the center of the outer peripheral gas bag 3. The gas bag 1, 3 are installed on a base plate 9 provided on the center portion of a steering wheel 8 by the edge portions of their base end portions via fixing tools 10, and a gas generator 11 is provided in the opening portion 2 of the center gas bag 1.
