Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a protection apparatus for an art object or the like, capable of preventing the fall thereof of damages thereto even upon a fall, at the time of occurrence of an earthquake.
CONSTITUTION: A folded air bag 24 is laid under, above or at the side of a work A2 such as an art object, or a folded protection screen is provided above the work A2. When the magnitude of an earthquake exceeds the prescribed value, the bag 24 is inflated to bulge around the work A2, or the screen is made to descend to a position around the work A2. The work A2 is protected with the bulged air bag 24' or the fallen screen. As a result, the fall of the work A2 can be prevented, even upon the occurrence of such a heavy earthquake as liable to cause the fall thereof. Also, even when the work A2 falls, damages thereto can be prevented.
