To provide a protection device for a cylinder lock capable of improving ease of the operation for releasing locking of a shutter at a closed position to release locking easily and smoothly and arranging an access switch at a position for enabling the optimum operation in accordance with form of a vehicle to which this protection device is applied.
This protection device for the cylinder lock is provided with the shutter 2, a solenoid for locking the shutter 2 at the closed position, a transponder, an antenna capable of receiving an authentication code, an authenticating means for authenticating whether the authentication code is normal or not, and the access switch 4 for starting the authentication. The protection device releases locking by the solenoid only when receiving the normal authentication code and can move the shutter 2 up to an opened position. An operation means 4 for the access switch is arranged separately outside a housing 1 and can be attached to an optional position in the vehicle.
