To provide a protection material which is laminated with another layer without damaging the adsorption properties of a layer consisting of a gas-adsorptive substance such as activated carbon, which is flexible and minimizes the drop of the adsorption properties, and to provide protection clothes using the material.

The protection material and the protection clothes are obtained by laminating the gas-adsorptive layer comprising the layer (gas-adsorptive layer) consisting of the activated carbon that has a BET specific surface area of ≥700 m2/g and ≤3,000 m2/g with another layer, using an adhesive having a melt index of ≤100 g/10 min.
