Title:
PROTECTION MECHANISM AGAINST SIDEWALL THUNDER FOR BUILDING WITH GLASS FACADE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006009523
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To eliminate a damage caused by a thunder stroke such as a partial breakage and fall on a building not having an electric conductor exposed on the surface of a sidewall such as a building with a facade, in view of the present circumstances that many skyscrapers of 60 m or higher do not have a protective means against the sidewall thunder because JIS A4201:1992 before the revision to JIS A4201:2003 does not stipulate the protection against the sidewall thunder.

The protection mechanism against the sidewall thunder for the building with the glass facade is provided with a thunder receiving conductor 6 erected on a glass fitting member 2 for constructing the facade of the building and passed through an opening part 5 formed through a glass 1 and a waterproof seal 7 provided between the opening and the thunder receiving conductor. The thunder current striking the thunder receiving conductor is conducted to a ground electrode in the ground from the glass fitting member via a skeleton member 4.
