PURPOSE: To extend the life of a protection pipe for a temperature measuring sensor by preventing oxidation and embrittlement a protection pipe for metal temperature measuring sensor.
CONSTITUTION: An alkali substance reacting with metal which reacts with alkali within carbon silicon is added in a composition to be covered which mainly consists of alkali silicate and silicon carbide for a metal pipe for a metal temperature measuring sensor such as Mo and Mo-ZrO2 which is the protection pipe for temperature measuring sensor used for a high-temperature gasification oven, a heating oven, and a metal refining dissolution oven, thus enabling the protection pipe for a Mo or Mo-ZrO2 based temperature-measuring sensor which can not be used conventionally in a high-temperature oxidation atmosphere to be used even at a high-temperature oxidation atmosphere for a long time.
