Abstract:
To provide a protective article that can be used for a coating surface and sealing of a surface edge of fluoropolymer applique, etc., adhered to a substrate using substantially all kinds of adhesives (for example, a pressure-sensitive adhesive, a thermosetting adhesive, and a hot-melt adhesive) or repair of the surface.
The protective article including a backing that includes a fluorinated polymer and a curable adhesive on at least one layer of the backing is provided. The protective article can be used for a substrate or to provide an article having a fluorinated surface. A method for manufacturing such an article, a method for repairing an applique, and a method for sealing the edge of the applique are also provided.
