Abstract:
PURPOSE: To limit overcurrent, immediately after its appearance due to a trouble by serially connecting a reversible short current limiter to at least one capacitor of a current circuit and installing a posistor in the reversible short-circuit current limiter. CONSTITUTION: A DC voltage intermediate circuit 2 has a filter for attenuating higher harmonic waves of the intermediate circuit, which is constituted of a series combination of a filter choke LF and a filter capacitor CF, between a positive terminal or positive magnetic pole plate P and a negative terminal or a negative magnet pole plate N. The DC voltage intermediate circuit 2 also has intermediate circuit capacitors C1, C2, C3, with the capacitors C2 and C3 which are serially connected to a reversible short-circuit current limiter 3. The reversible short-circuit current limiter 3 has a parallel combination of a diode 4 which is polarized in a direction such as to stop current at the time of short- circuit, a posistor 5, an arrestor or a varistor 6, and an ohmic resistor 7. Due to this structure, overcurrent which is generated by troubles can be limited on the appearance of it.
