A

To provide a protective coating composition which is suitable for coating a metal substrate, especially, a metal substrate pretreated by a corrosion preventive means like galvanization or a corrosion preventive coating including metal grain such as zinc or aluminium according to circumstances.

The protective coating composition comprises an anti-corrosion additive and/or a lubricant and/or a thickening agent and a silicate and organic titanate which are chosen from a group consisting of an organic silicate, an organic polysilicate or colloidal silica as a binder in a solvent, and does not include a metal grain. The binder includes 30-60 wt.% of a silicate and 40-70 wt.% of an organic titanate.
