Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a coating compsn. which is applied to a degraded printed film on the surface of a plastic container, etc., to prevent staining of cloths due to contact, gives a coating film easily soluble in warm water to enable staining, e.g. dust, attached to the coating film to be removed easily, and is used for recoating the degraded printed film to repair and protect it to thereby improve the value of the container, etc., as a merchandise.
CONSTITUTION: A protective coating compsn. is prepd. by compounding an aq. soln. contg. a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of polymn. of 1,500 or higher and a degree of saponification of 97mol% or higher and another polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of polymn. of 1,200 or lower and a degree of saponification of 76-90mol% with an aq. wax emulsion contg. a paraffin wax having an m.p. of 40-85°C and an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer resin in an amt. of the wax emulsion (solid base) of 20-120 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total of the polyvinyl alcohols.
