To provide a protective cover installable while covering the top of a buried member by a simple operation, installable without protecting against rain even in the rain, not affected by dispersed dirt even when strong wind is blowing and not flown by the strong wind, and capable of preventing the top of the buried member from being damaged by the mischief of children and animals such as dogs and cats.

This protective cover comprises a generally flat protective cover body 2 disposed while generally covering the top of the unsolid buried member disposed near the base end of a column A. The protective cover body comprises a column insertion part 2a into which the column is inserted, connection parts 2d, 2e with the side ends 2b, 2c connected to each other to be formed in a generally conical shape, a water drop intrusion prevention part 2f formed at the column insertion part and preventing rainwater from intruding along the column, nail insertion hole parts 2g formed around the peripheral edges for inserting nails therethrough when the cover body is fixed to a road, and reinforcing parts 2h so formed on the surface of the protective cover body as to be hard to deform and retaining the shape of the protective cover body in a generally conical shape.
