Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system to which a transparent protective film is applied.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a system has a first print head which applies a coloring agent to a medium based upon a first bit map showing printable features for the medium and a second print head which applies transparent protection to the medium based upon a second bit map. The system receives the first bit map and duplicates printable features in the first bit map to form the second bit map. The system identifies a border of printable features in the second bit map, and extends the border of the printable features in the second bit map in which the transparent protection is applied to the medium. The system instructs the first print head to apply the coloring agent to the medium so as to form printable features based upon the first bitmap, and also instructs the second print head to apply the transparent protection to the printable features formed on the medium based upon the second bit map.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
