Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a protective and warming cover for food which does not take much space and exhibits a decorative effect and can be inexpensively manufactured. CONSTITUTION: This protective and warming cover for food advantageously has semicircularly curved support materials 1 and 2, and these support materials 1 and 2 are joined to each other at both ends by hinges. These support materials 1 and 2 can mutually swing between 0 deg. and 180 deg. at its maximum. Bellows 4 are arranged between both support materials 1 and 2 so that a bellows-shaped dome is formed in a condition where the support materials 1 and 2 are opened by mutually swinging. The cover has a continuous base 14 in the form of a serving platter, and the support materials 1 and 2 are placed on the base 14 in a using position. A handle 13 composed of round steel or a pipe is hooked on the hinges 5 and 6 of the support materials. The handle 13 is locked on a notch or a slit existing in the hinges under a support load so as not to swing any more to the bottom.
