The protective material comprises at least one protective film layer 10 where both surfaces of a permselective layer 3 having moisture permeability of (60 g/m2×h) to (850 g/m2×h) and permeation inhibiting ability against the organic chemical substances are superimposed with moisture permeable layers 2, 4 having moisture permeability of (200 g/m2×h) or higher. The protective garment is made of the protective material.
