Abstract:
To provide a protector structure for an exhaust gas sensor which retards an intrusion of condensed water into a protector.
In the exhaust gas sensor provided with the protector 19 covering a sensor element, the protector 19 comprises an inner protector 191 having a plurality of vent holes 191a and an outer protector 192 covering the inner protector and having a plurality of vent holes 192a. At normal temperatures, the vent holes 191a of the inner protector 191 are not communicated with the vent holes 192a of the outer protector 192. In accordance with an increase in temperature of exhaust gas, the vent holes 191a of the inner protector 191 are communicated with the vent holes 192a of the outer protector 192.
